Dr Terri McVeigh

Dr McVeigh trained in Clinical Genetics in Ireland, funded by the HRB National Academic SpR programme. She undertook fellowships in Yale University (USA) QIMR Berghofer (Brisbane, Australia), and in the Royal Marsden in London before taking a permanent post as a Consultant Clinical Geneticist there in 2018. She has a specialist interest in Medical Education, and works as member of faculty on MSc Health Professions Education (iheed/Warwick University) and PGDip Health Sciences, Clinical Education (NUI Galway). She designed, developed and is Clinical Lead of the Postgraduate Certificate in Cancer Genetics & Genomics, and Subject Matter Expert for the Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Health & Telemedicine, both with the RCPI.
She is a tutor on MSc Genomic Medicine (Imperial College London), is a member of steering committee of the Association of Cancer Physicians/Royal College of Radiologists Genomics Education Resource, and co-chairs the Oncogenomics & Malignant Haematology working groups of the Health Education England GeNotes resource. Dr McVeigh is a Council Member and Communications Representative of the Cancer Genetics Group (CGG) of the British Society of Genomic Medicine (BSGM); and is the CGG representative on the BSGM Education & Training working group. She is team leader of Cancer Genetics Education & Quality Improvement team in the Institute of Cancer Research.
She is also a member of the Cancer Variant Interpretation Group (CanVIG-UK) and of the associated Steering and Advisory Group (CStAG (CanVIG-UK Steering and Advisory Group)), and of the ClinGen Endocrine Tumor Predisposition Syndrome (ENDO-TPS) Variant Curation Expert Panel (VCEP). She has recently been appointed as professional lead for Technology-Enhanced Learning with the Health Education England Genomics Training Academy (GTAC).
