Professor Brian O’Neill

Professor Brian DP O’Neill is a Consultant Radiation Oncologist at St Luke’s and Beaumont Hospitals, and at the Mater Private hospital, where his specialist interests are Gastro-Intestinal (GI) and Genito-Urinary Radiation Oncology. Professor O’Neill is a Graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He completed general medical training in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin and a Specialist Registrar Radiation Oncology programme at the St Lukes Radiation Oncology Network, followed by Fellowships in GI and Genito-Urinary Clinical Oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London.

Professor O’Neill is the National Lead for GI Radiation Oncology and an Author of the National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP) clinical guidelines for upper and lower GI cancers and for Prostate Cancer. He is a former co-Chair of the Cancer Trials Ireland (CTI) GI disease-specific subgroup. Professor O’Neill is a board member of the St Lukes Institute for Cancer Research (SLICR) and leads the GI research group at the St Lukes Radiation Oncology Network. He is a member of the NCCP National Colorectal Cancer Clinical Leads.

Professor O’Neill continues to work with CTI as an Investigator recruiting to national and international clinical trials.

Professor O’Neill is the Author of numerous peer-reviewed publications and has lectured extensively.
