Dr Lynda McSorley,
Consultant Medical Oncologist and Lead for Cancer Genetics
St Vincent’s Hospital and St Vincent’s UCD Cancer Centre, Dublin

Medical degree from RCSI and completed Higher Specialist Training in Medical Oncology through the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in 2019. Subsequently undertook fellowship training in Melbourne, Australia at Monash Health. Holds Masters degrees in Clinical Research and in Clinical Genetics. Returned to Ireland in 2023 and took up a consultant post in St Vincent’s treating gynaecological cancer. She is the lead for the Cancer Genetics service.

Currently Deputy Chair of the NCCP Working Group for Hereditary Cancer Networked Services and Chair of the NCCP subgroup tasked with developing mainstream cancer genetics nationally. The goal is to integrate genetic testing for high-risk groups to the patient’s routine cancer care pathway and provide timely access to genetic testing for those who need it.
